Fable II: A Hero's Tale

This is part of the promotional website for the game Fable II. It's a very short interactive story where, like the game, you have the choice to be good or evil. The loading times were painfully slow on my connection but I really like the combination of traditional and digital techniques and the general quirkiness of it!

(I had some problems getting it to work in Firefox, so if yours is the same just try it in Safari instead! :P)

Siobhans video for 'The Faint'

Siobhan has been blowing us away with skills on the motion module, bearing in mind we have only made one animation previous to this, and its not the main focus on our illustration course, makes it even more impressive! Youtube trashed quality so will try and upload better version soon. She's not one to blow her own trumpet, so im going to blow it for her (sorry Siobhan!) ;) She has also just finished her website and blog www.tinrobo.co.uk

The Story of Stuff

This great little animation does the best job of summing up lots of little things much of which we may already know about, but explains it in such an accessible way. It definatley made an impression on me, and made me think twice about spending money on crap I don't really need. I also decided to find someone to fix my bike instead of throwing it away because the gears need fixing! Everyone should watch this!... wordshttp://www.storyofstuff.com/

Last Year's Animations

Here are our fable animations from our first year of FD Illustration and Print. Should be interesting to compare it with the animations we're working on at the moment! Well, when they're finished at least...

Rotascope Tests

Thought I would finally have a go at using a tablet, and did this short rotascope of my daughter as part of research for motion module.  Was about 130 frames, which meant 130 drawings and took me best part of a day! Very tiring!

Disruptive Behaviour

Anna and I went to the Disruptive Behaviour workshop this afternoon and contributed our mad illustrator skillz (okay, well I just made a horrible blue-green mess but Anna drew some eyes which were pretty cool) to this animation by drawing directly onto film.

Disruptive Behaviour

Saturday 18 October, 1pm

There are some interesting free workshops going on at the arts centre right now, which may be useful to anyone doing the motion graphics module at the moment. Including disruptive behaviour with Kayla Parker, using experimental drawing with film and other media...check out link below, and see what else is going on at the Plymout Art Centre.

I Met the Walrus

Incredible award winning animation, using original Interview from 1969, when 14-year-old Beatle fan Jerry Levitan, took a tape deck, into John Lennon's hotel room in Toronto and convinced John to do an interview about peace.

'38 years later director Josh Raskin has woven a visual narrative which tenderly romances Lennon's every word in a cascading flood of multipronged animation. Raskin marries the terrifyingly genius pen work of James Braithwaite with masterful digital illustration by Alex Kurina, resulting in a spell-binding vessel for Lennon's boundless wit, and timeless message.'

MUTO-a painted animation

Many have seen this amazing animation that has been circulating the internet for a while now, but as we have an insect theme on Graphics and Illustration at the moment, I thought it was an appropriate thing to post.
